John (b.1589) appears in a Holcombe Rogus manor lease dated 10th Jan. 1639. From this document we learn that he was leasing a house, orchards and garden called Frethingcott. This property is in the north of the parish and adjoins Fenton and Kytton. The lease is between Francis Bluett and John Cole, husbandman of Holcombe Rogus, and is to take effect on the death of the said John Dinham. It is therefore clear that the children of John Dinham were probably no longer in the village.

Notes on Thomas (b. 1691) Exactly when Thomas ceased his connection with Fenton has not been fully established, although it must have been before 29th of May 1788 when a new lease for the property was drawn up and signed between Sir Percy Wyndham and Richard Hellings. The Moorston records also show that in the period immediately before this new lease was signed, the property was being let on an annual basis to Hugh Talbot for a rent of £18 a year.
In theory the Dinham involvement with Fenton should have ceased at the end of 1762, upon the death of Faith the last remaining life on the lease of 1713, but it is not clear whether this happened. Allowing for the fact that Thomas and Faith had moved from Holcombe Rogus, and also that the farm at Fenton was part of Moorston Manor, which was administered from Halberton, it might well be that the stewards took some time to catch up with this fact.
Notes on Thomas (b. 1788) 1851 Cencus: Living Nicholashayne, Culmstock, Wellington. 64 yrs Wheelwright. Living with wife and daughter Elizabeth. Witnesses at wedding William Cotterell and Robert Dinham.

Notes on William (b. 1828) Poor rate records circa 1777 show William Dinham occupying a farm called Langlands, which was leased from the Sandford family.
Acquired Higher Eastbrook farm in Burlescombe in the 1780's which remained occupied by William senior until 1794 when, at the age of 69, he seems to have given up the farm.
William’s will, which was written on Christmas Eve 1813, leaves bequests of about one hundred pounds, eighty-one pounds of which were in cash.
